The Sackett - Park Slope

On a cold chilly night, I darted down a side street and quietly entered this dark, unassuming, beautiful, cozy bar. Exposed brick, gold wallpaper, antiques and a small jukebox add just the right touch of intimacy and secrecy.
I started off with a Hornet ($8) which is made with tequila, campari, grapefruit juice, splash of grenadine. Although strong (the way I like it), I I would have preferred this with gin. After this, I swtiched to beer. A safer bet as I didn't want to get sloppy.
Everyone at the bar was super-friendly, chatty and acting in concordance with the Brooklyn Bill of Rights.***
I will definitely be back to enjoy some brews and friendly company.
FYI: They are currently NOT serving food. No empanadas here. That was disappointing (they were getting their empanadas from Bogota). They are waiting for a health inspection, and then perhaps will serve food again. But, they have a myriad of menus to order take-out.
Note: Mon and Tues $2 off drinks. Wed-Sun $1 off drinks. This excludes non-alcoholic.
